Storage design and batch management of sewage sludge spread in agriculture

Abstract
A well-made design of sewage sludge storage is a key-factor for the success of land application operations. Too often, this step is a weak link that forbids a right agronomic management of fertilisation and sludge-treated soils. This article has been written by a committee of engineers in order to investigate the numerous benefits related to batch management of sewage sludge and to analyse the manifold consequences on pattern of storages. A better storage appears to be the main way of progress for the next years in France.
