Abstract
To better understand the decline in diadromous species observed over the last few decades, and to propose appropriate management measures, it is important to be able to work on the pressures they face during the different phases of their life cycle (in freshwater and at sea). To complement its rich collection of historical series of scientific data on Index Rivers, the OFB-INRAE-Institut Agro-UPPA pole for the Management of Diadromous Species in their Environment (MIAME pole) has put particular effort into collecting data from marine and freshwater fisheries, particularly on salmonids and European eels. Collecting data from fisheries targeting these species is essential, as in addition to characterizing fisheries and the impact they can have on a species or the environment, they also provide ecological information on the species, particularly in areas that are difficult to access through scientific monitoring (e.g. offshore habitat). This article outlines the protocols and systems put in place by the pole, enabling it to have a complete fisheries monitoring data management process, from collection to transmission of data and analysis results.
