Abstract
Developed within a citizen science approach, the FISHOLA application was co-designed by scientists and anglers to improve knowledge of fish populations in peri-Alpine lakes and contribute to their conservation. By enabling real-time recording of catches, it provides valuable data for the sustainable management of the resource and raises anglers’ awareness of conservation issues. Since 2025, it has been deployed at new sites to broaden its impact.
