A forward-looking exercise at departmental level to inform the development of the regional plan for water management in the Agly basin

Abstract

The Agly catchment area, in collaboration with other regions in the Pyrénées-Orientales, has launched the Eau’Rizon2070 forward-looking initiative. This study seeks to evaluate the impacts of climate change on these regions and their water resources, while opening a dialogue on potential adaptation strategies.
This case study sheds light on the challenges of developing a collective foresight process: shifting methodological approaches, engaging stakeholders, navigating crisis conditions, aligning with other foresight efforts, and contributing to the future Territorial Water Management Project (PTGE) for the Agly basin.
