Abstract
The more suitable techniques for the measurements of losses are briefly reviewed. In particular two important approaches are described: firstly, those based on enclosure methods and, secondly, a range of methods based on micrometeorological techniques. Whilst it is not the objective of the present paper to discuss in detail the quantification of NH3 fluxes and sources, some recent figures from literature data are also mentioned.
