Evolution of animal nitrogen emissions in municipalities of the Brest bay area watershed

Abstract

The report about animal waste production in the watersheds of the Brest roadstead show that this region was already in 1988 an intensive livestock farming zone, with high concentration of breeding, particularly in pig and poultry. Between 1988 and 1993, these productions increased at a considerable rate, especially in poultry, and are one of the sources of nitrogen pollution in this part of Brittany.
