Various observations on arrangements for open-air wintering of suckling heifers have highlighted useful information regarding the protection of the environment by quantifying the recoverable waste. However, the task was made more difficult by the need to protect the animals from wind and rain and to maintain ground firmness on the outskirts of the area involved.
