Abstract
This paper was presented at the seminar on water engineering, organized by Cemagref and CERTU, which took place on November 20, 1995 in Nancy. Concerning the impact of human activities on riverine aquatic environments, two syntheses present the study and research efforts carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture (Cemagref) and the Ministry of Equipment (ENTPE). At Cemagref, three directions are used to study the components of an impact: the watershed, the structures or developments as a whole, and the materials. The specific approach of the Ministry of Public Works is presented.
