From farming to rural area development

Abstract

This paper is the synthesis of works exhibited during the "Agriculture and Environment" seminar, which took place in Paris on 7 June 2000. After a brief historical background, an analysis of agriculture’s position in an environmental context was given. Operational analysis has been carried out on each of the five research projects, exhibited in the context of a mobilising theme initiated by Cemagref, to determine if it is part of a parcel, an area level, or a combination of both.
