Conservation of rare and protected macrophytes and aquatic habitats in France

Abstract

Integral part of the management, conservation of rare aquatic plants is urgent in the current context of biodiversity loss. The conservation objectives and practices implemented for the conservation of these rare plants exist at both species and communities (habitat) level. The legislative and regulatory frameworks require such protection, which allows to relaunch inventories and monitoring. But several questions for the future of this conservation are presented, both in terms of methods, but also prospects.
