Stakeholder reactions to new policies for forest-biodiversity protection

Abstract

This paper presents a study carried out in the area covered by the Thiers-mountain development plan (Puy-de-Dôme department, Massif Central, France) in 2007 and 2008. The goal was to perform a prior assessment of a fictive policy for the protection of ordinary biodiversity in forests. The assessment was the means to anticipate the possible reactions of the local stakeholders who would be confronted with the new public policy in the context of the development plan.
