Abstract
For many managers of natural areas, the consideration of invasive introduced species is primarily a technical issue. However, approaches in the human and social sciences, concerned both, with the perceptions of these species and with the category of introduced invasive species themselves, have emphasized how the technical choices depended on socio-cultural factors. In addition, these species which can spread by different means, require coordination between a variety of stakeholders and territories. Their management thus calls for the establishment of a collective involving all stakeholders, be they scientists, managers or users.
