Abstract

Optimising the aeration devices used in the aerobic basins of wastewater treatment plants is essential to guarantee the quality of wastewater treatment, but also to limit the construction and energy costs of the installations. Using numerical fluid mechanics, Irstea is developing models to improve the design and operation of these devices.
