Abstract
The measurement of water activity originated in the food and pharmaceutical industries to optimise the stability and conservation of products. Successfully adapted by an Irstea scientific team to improve the quality of forest seeds and pollens, this method for managing the water status of seeds has been the subject of bilateral scientific cooperation and transfer with Quebec forestry research since 2006. A look back at this active cooperation with multiple productions that contributes to the emergence of new research and development projects between the two countries.
