Abstract

Floods cause significant human and material damage. The ability to predict floods accurately is therefore invaluable in order to intervene in good time to protect property and people. This article presents the development and application of the GRP hydrological model "Génie rural pour la prévision" (Rural engineering for forecasting) developed by the Irstea Hydrology team in Antony, on the experimental Orgeval catchment area.
