The implementation of the terrestrial and aquatic ecological networks: an additional vector for the dispersal of invasive species?

Abstract

The spread of exotic species favored by increasing global trade is the source of biological invasions. These invasions cause severe environmental and economic damages. The objectives of the French terrestrial and aquatic ecological network to facilitate species movement for biodiversity improvement can also promote the spread of certain invasive species. It seems necessary to consider the risk of spread of invasive introduced species in the implementation of this network.
