Management of knotweeds: can or should we change perspectives?

Abstract

Scientific knowledge, representations and practices associated with the management of natural environments are evolving, so it is interesting to examine whether the answers to some questions are still the same, whether they converge between different individuals or different disciplines, or whether these questions are no longer relevant and others are emerging. Here, it is the opinion of an ecologist and a geographer who express themselves, for the sole purpose of proposing questions and avenues for reflection among those who are currently leading the discussions on the management of knotweeds.
