A reflection on the state of knowledge of the functions of the bocage for water in a perspective of mobilization for action

Abstract

Bocage is one of the essential elements of the landscape in the preservation of water resources, both in terms of quality and quantity. In this article, the authors review the scientific knowledge on the functioning and role of hedges on water. Their analysis concerns mainly the West of France, a region with a dense hydrographic network and groundwater tables exposed at the level of the talwegs.
