The territorialization of the ERC: what are the issues related to the spatial scale change?

Abstract

Initiatives for territorialized approaches to all or part of the Avoid-Reduce-Compensate (ERC) sequence are emerging throughout France. Based on the analysis of fourteen of these initiatives, the authors of this article review their contribution to taking into account the cumulative impacts and improving the effectiveness of the ERC sequence. Finally, the current challenges for ecological research are highlighted.
