Abstract
The implementation of a project on a plot of land that may be wholly or partly affected by a wetland requires consideration of the stakes of the project as well as the regulations with dedicated tools. Delimiting the wetland and identifying its functions can be a delicate step. In each situation, the interest is to find a pragmatic and shared vision of the project and the "wetland" issue with all the actors concerned. What are wetlands and what are their functions? How to recognize them and where are they? How should works and projects take them into account? This article aims to answer these various questions by shedding light on the legislative definition and its various implications. To go further, the guide "Mastering the concepts of wetlands and wetlands in relation to agricultural activity" intended for all collaborators confronted with an agricultural project potentially in a wetland makes it possible to support the implementation of such a project while managing wetlands in a sustainable way.
