How does FDA anticipate the effects of climate change?

Abstract

In charge of the management of eleven million hectares of public forests, including 4.6 million hectares in metropolitan France, the Office national des forêts (ONF) is a major player in the forest-wood sector in France. Since 2005, climate change has become a research and development priority for the ONF. In order to adapt forests to the climate of tomorrow and preserve carbon stocks, its Research, Development and Innovation Department has been working closely with research players in France. In this article, the authors take stock of the work and actions carried out over the past fourteen years and their appropriation by the management services.
