Vulnerability and adaptation to the effects of climate change in the Haut-Chablais: lessons from a support approach

Abstract

Melting glaciers, landslides... the impacts of climate change are already clearly visible in the Alps, where the average temperature is rising twice as fast as elsewhere in France. Faced with these impacts, which will increase, and others that will appear, mountain territories will have to find tools to develop a local adaptation strategy. This article presents the support approach implemented by INRAE scientists and the ACTeon consultancy firm in the Haut-Chablais region to mobilise stakeholders to carry out a vulnerability diagnosis and help them prioritise actions to adapt to climate change.
