Aquaref - What positioning for a national reference laboratory for monitoring aquatic environments?

Abstract

For fifteen years, Aquaref has been part of the French and European landscape for the implementation of the European Water Framework Directive. Has the implementation of Aquaref met the needs? What is its positioning in the near future and for the post-WFD period? What are the operational limits of Aquaref and how to overcome them? The symposium organized in 2017 for the ten years of action of this consortium highlighted a balance sheet considered very positive and proposed clear avenues of evolution to ensure the sustainability of this system.
