Feedback: Which lessons learned from the project leaders of the French Mitigation Banking System ten years after the launch of the experiment?

Abstract

In 2011, the French Ministry of Environment launched a call for projects for experimental offset operations in order to assess the relevance and feasibility of the system in France. Nearly ten years later, we propose here an updated assessment of the evolution of the implementation of these experimental compensation operations from the point of view of the mitigation bank operators. We look back at the issues and difficulties that the participating project leaders had to face during the operational implementation of the mitigation bank system, and we identify some advice and suggestions for the future.
