Abstract
Using lake sediments during a dam drain is a way to enrich the soil in a mountainous agro-pastoral context. Based on an experiment carried out in the Northern French Alps (Mont Cenis dam), different sowing methods (two grain mixtures, one with wild seeds of local origin) were tested using different methods of soil reconstitution (two mixtures of sediment, compost and manure). Five years of vegetation monitoring and soil analysis have shown the evolution of the floristic procession and the physicochemical improvement of the soil. The result is operational solutions for farmers to replenish the soil, improve meadows’ biodiversity, and optimize grazing practices
