Pollifauniflor: the multi-annual cover for pollinators and wildlife compatible in seed production areas

Abstract

The production of vegetable seeds is not always compatible with the presence of flower strips or fallow land, especially when the flowers introduced at the edge of the crops divert the bees to their benefit. The PolliFauniFlor mixture has been developed to address this problem. Composed of ten annual and perennial species, the cover has a moderate attractiveness for honey bees. The flowering period is spread out and complements the flowering periods of the seedlings, attracting a multitude of wild pollinators near the crops. Finally, the flowering canopy constitutes a refuge, feeding and reproduction area for wild fauna.
