Abstract
The backshore lagoons of the Picardy maritime plain are either now isolated from the sea or connected by a system of sluices that function more or less well. This no longer allows them to fulfil their ecological functions for various species characteristic of these environments. This is the case of the lagoons in the terrestrial part of the Baie de Somme national nature reserve. The aim of the new management plan is to restore appropriate functioning to these lagoons. To this end, studies are being carried out on bathymetry, water quality, benthic fauna, as well as on the hydraulic structures and their management methods. The aim of this focus is to present the main results of these monitoring and studies, as well as the first lines of thought on the implementation of appropriate facilities to meet species conservation objectives
