Sharing water resources: what prospective method for more effective and efficient collaborative water management?

Abstract

The 'Anticipating for better planning: What water needs for what kind of agriculture in the future?" conference, held in Montpellier on 28 September, was an opportunity to bring together water experts from government departments, local authorities, academia and companies proposing solutions. In the course of the conference, questions were raised about the fair distribution of resources between uses and the mobilisation of different stakeholders in different bodies. What method of consultation should be used to ensure that stakeholders agree on a desirable future and define common management rules? The speakers at this round table were able to present the original methodological elements of their consultation approaches.
