Abstract

The DataECLA platform (Data on Lake Ecosystems) was developed by the ECLA R&D Cluster (Lake Ecosystems Research and Development Cluster) to address the growing challenges of centralizing, making accessible, and leveraging data on French lakes. Compliant with European standards (INSPIRE, Open Data Directive) and the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable), DataECLA relies exclusively on open-source software solutions (GeoNetwork, GeoServer, GeoCMS, Dash, etc.). It offers interactive and customizable web access to metadata, maps, graphs, and dashboards, while enabling direct connection from specialized software via standardized feeds (OGC). In addition to data resulting from the implementation of the Water Framework Directive (WFD), the platform is gradually integrating datasets from research, remote sensing, and other national networks. A true tool for structuring knowledge, DataECLA promotes the circulation of scientific knowledge and supports public policies for biodiversity protection.
