Internal erosion typology and internal erosion in fluvial dykes – A short bibliographic review

Abstract

The article is an analysis of internal erosion cases of river levees (Mississippi River levees and Danube River levees). These two well-documented cases highlight the role of bedrock depth and old beds in the development of internal erosion in foundations.
