Solving water imbalances in agricultural territories: the effectiveness and social acceptability of four case-study tested scenarios

Abstract

In summer, some agricultural areas are repeatedly confronted with a water imbalance, leading the State services to limit water withdrawals. It is in this context that the territorial projects were implemented in 2015, which encourage a joint policy of alternative storage and water saving, in consultation with all stakeholders. How effective is this policy in achieving quantitative balance? To answer this question, the authors of this article rely on the results of a simulation of water management scenarios evaluated and commented on by water stakeholders.
